Psychosomatic Bodywork:
Information for Therapists
Somatic support as a complementary intervention within therapeutic talk-based work.
For professionals in therapy, medicine, and supportive coaching whose patients have cognitively understood their patterns, yet experience limited affective or somatic access.
Our work supports nervous system self-regulation through carefully attuned touch, therapeutic co-regulation, and the development of emotional differentiation and precise self-awareness.

This work can serve as complementary support in cases of:
-
persistent rumination and repetitive thought loops
-
reduced body awareness or non-trauma-related dissociation
-
stress-related autonomic overactivation
-
functional patterns of tension and pain
-
sleep disturbances
-
emotional dysregulation without an acute crisis
-
psychosomatic symptom patterns
Contraindications

-
acute psychosis
-
untreated mania
-

-
acute trauma reactivation without sufficient stabilization
-
severe dissociation with loss of control

Typical Structure of a Session
-
Arrival & Brief Conversation: Short intake, clarification of themes, safety assessment, and clear framing of the session.
-
Bodywork on the Table: Attuned touch to activate proprioception and interoception. Active and passive techniques, combined with brief awareness questions, to foster somatic and emotional granularity.
-
Optional Parts Work: Only if it arises spontaneously from the client and has a stabilizing effect. Simple W-questions directed toward inner parts (e.g., Who? How old? What is needed?), exclusively when the client’s ego state is stable.
-
Closing & Re-Centering: A calm conclusion with grounding, centering, and integration, ensuring clients leave the practice regulated and able to return to daily life.
-
Integration (optional): Simple impulses or small home practices (e.g., self-regulation exercises or journaling), offered only when appropriate and clearly contextualized.

Focus Areas of My Practice
I work somatically with breathing and relaxation techniques, imaginative methods, as well as active and passive psychosomatic bodywork. Through touch, body awareness, movement, and nervous system regulation, inner processes become more accessible. In this way, psychosomatic tension can be addressed and psychological processes supported through the body.
