Questions About the Training
Here you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our trainings.
The modules take place on weekends, and sessions run from 14:00 to approximately 19:30.
Please allow for a time buffer of up to 30 minutes — depending on the group dynamic and learning pace, the session may occasionally extend until around 20:00.
Course location: Bodymind Studio, Mittenwalder Str. 9, 10961 Kreuzberg.
No prior experience is required. Our training is designed to guide you step by step — from the fundamentals of anatomy and touch to advanced techniques. Whether you’re completely new to massage, already work with people (as a coach, therapist, or in another field), or have previous massage experience, you’ll be fully supported throughout the learning process.
The course will be held mainly in English. However, if necessary, some terms will be translated into German and Italian to ensure that everyone understands the content.
The groups are small and familiar, which allows for better individual attention and optimal learning opportunities. A maximum of 2 to 3 participants work per massage table, ensuring effective learning.
A minimum of 4 participants is required for the course to take place. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the course will unfortunately be canceled, and the full participation fee will be refunded.
Yes, you will need your own massage table from day one to be fully equipped and make the most of your training. It is not required for the class itself but is essential for practicing between sessions. We are happy to recommend suitable models and suppliers based on your needs and budget.
In addition to the scheduled in-person training weekends (one weekend per month), regular self-practice is a core part of the training.
You should plan for approximately 25–35 hours of self-practice per month, depending on how many modules you take.
Self-practice is carried out with test persons, such as:
• friends or family
• fellow students from the course
• people from our extended network — in this case, you either visit them with your massage table or use our studio and equipment (€10/hour)
Most participants begin practicing with people they already know. As confidence grows, some choose to work with new clients to gain experience with different body types and practice in conditions close to real professional settings. This is entirely up to you.
Important: The required number of self-practice hours is a prerequisite for successfully completing each module and for certification.
For participants who miss a lesson, we offer a private make-up session to ensure you can cover all the material.
Since this session is prepared and held individually, the cost is €90 for 90 minutes — this covers the full content of the missed class.
The make-up session is optional; however, please note that full attendance — including any make-up sessions — is required to receive the certification.
If you do not complete or wish to retake the course for personal reasons, you may re-enroll once within one year at 50% of the regular price, provided there are available spots.
• The anatomy book is not included.
• The anatomy course must also be retaken.
At the end of each module there is an exam consisting of two parts:
Theoretical Part
15 multiple-choice questions on anatomy. The test is passed with a maximum of 5 mistakes.
Practical Part
• Memorized massage sequence for 2-3 body areas and a simulation of an initial consultation with a fellow student.
• Oral questions and answers on anatomy.
The exam is considered passed with a maximum of 3 mistakes.
Additional Requirement
Depending on the module, you’ll need to complete approx. 25 to 30 hours of practice on volunteers (friends, family, acquaintances). You will receive the practice log at the start of the course and must submit it completed on the exam day. If needed, we can support you in finding practice partners through our Facebook group and contacts.
The examination can be repeated up to three times.
With our certification, you can work in wellness and spa settings, hotels, sports clubs, fitness studios, or open your own private practice.
Out of your scope of practice: This certification does not cover the provision of medical massages prescribed by a doctor. The techniques taught are designed for the preventive, wellness, and sports-oriented field and do not replace medically prescribed treatments.
This training program is not eligible for funding through the Employment Agency (Arbeitsagentur) or education vouchers (Bildungsgutschein). Participation is therefore privately financed.
The profession of massage therapist is not state-recognized or legally regulated in Germany — which means that there is no officially recognized training in this field.
However, our program qualifies you to work professionally in the area of wellness and relaxation massage. You will receive a solid, practice-oriented certificate of completion, which allows you to work as a massage therapist in Germany — as long as you do not perform medical massages prescribed by a doctor.
If you are looking for a state-recognized qualification, the officially accredited path would be training as a “Masseur/in und medizinische/r Bademeister/in” — a two-year qualification that authorizes you to perform therapeutic and medical massages, often based on a doctor’s prescription.
What about “state recognition” by ZFU, TÜV, or AZAV?
These seals confirm that a course meets certain formal and didactic standards – for example, regarding structure, or eligibility for funding by the German Employment Agency (AZAV).
However, they refer only to the course format and not to an official recognition of the profession itself.
Unfortunately our school and training is not valid for visa applications. Participation is possible only for those who already hold a valid residence or visa status that allows private, self-funded education.
This certification is sufficient for working in the wellness field within Germany.
Requirements abroad may vary – please check the specific legal regulations in the country where you plan to work.
No. This title is misleading and legally problematic. There is no state-recognized training for “massage therapist” in Germany, and even a doctor cannot grant you a protected professional title. Terms like “medically certified” or “certified by a doctor” are therefore often considered misleading and legally objectionable.
In Germany, only medical massage practitioners with state-regulated training (e.g., Masseur:in und medizinische/r Bademeister:in) are allowed to use protected professional titles and perform medical treatments.
Other terms you should not use:
Titles like physiotherapist, medical masseur, or physical therapist can create false expectations and may lead to legal consequences.
Yes, you can pay in installments through PayPal or Klarna — usually between 3 and 12 months, and in some cases with Klarna up to 24 months.
The number of installments, fees, and conditions offered will depend on your bank account, creditworthiness, and whether your account is based in Germany, the EU, or outside Europe.
The best way is to start the enrollment process and select PayPal or Klarna as your payment method. You’ll be able to review the exact terms before confirming your payment.
If we have to cancel the training, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel your participation, the following policy applies:
Cancellation for Early Bird Price: No refund possible.
Cancellation for Standard Price:
• 91 days or more before the course starts: 100% refund, minus a 10% processing fee.
• 31 to 90 days before the course starts: 50% refund, minus a 10% processing fee.
• Less than 30 days before the course start date: No refund.
In the case of serious medical conditions that make participation in the entire training impossible, a refund may be considered. A detailed medical certificate is required, clearly stating the nature of the condition and its impact on participation. The final decision is at our discretion.
Participants who do not complete the training for personal or health reasons are not entitled to a refund.
